About the Course:
Led by two aviation insurance leaders, the AIA’s Introduction to Aviation Insurance course is intended for new aviation insurance professionals with less than a year of experience in the field. This half-day course offers a high-level overview of aviation insurance. With this course, students will solidify their knowledge of the basics, accelerate their understanding of key concepts and terminology, and gain insight into resources for further professional development. Topics discussed include basics about insurance and the market, key terminology, the aircraft hull & liability policy, claims handling, the current state of the market, and more.

About the Instructors:
Josh Ray
Josh currently serves as Regional Head of General Aviation-North America for Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty. He has held multiple roles in aviation insurance underwriting for over 24 years. Josh also holds a BS degree in Aviation Management/Flight Technology. He is a commercial pilot, multi-engine, instrument, certified flight instructor, advanced ground instructor, aircraft dispatcher, and UAS remote pilot.
Joe Williams
Joe is an Aviation Insurance Broker and Managing Director of Aviation for Marsh McLennan Agency SE. Previously, he served as an aviation insurance underwriter at AIG and Starr. Joe's education includes Auburn University BSBA and Auburn University at Montgomery EMBA, and he is a former certified flight instructor as well as a corporate pilot.
