Education Foundation
Supporting Tomorrow's Industry Leaders
Established in 2008, the AIA Education Foundation provides grants and scholarships to assist and encourage individuals to further their interest in selecting aviation insurance as a pending or continued career.
About the Foundation
Our Mission
The purpose of the AIA Education Foundation is to raise funds for the development of aviation insurance education programs and to raise funds for educational grants and scholarships, to be awarded by the AIA Board of Directors, for the purpose of assisting and encouraging students to further or continue their interest in selecting aviation insurance as a pending or continued career.
Wattles Fellowship Partnership
The Wattles Fellowship was founded in 1969 with the original purpose of providing opportunities for women to work in the prestigious London insurance industry. Over the years, the job description has changed from being mostly clerical to the only program of its kind offering a one-year, fully-integrated position in the London insurance market. The AIA Education Foundation has consistently supported the fellowship with two $2,500 grants for the aviation-specific fellows, assisting with the cost of relocating to and living in London for a year. Rewarding Excellence
The Aviation Insurance Association Education Foundation is proud to support insurance professionals throughout their careers and recognize their outstanding accomplishments. Each year, the Foundation awards a £1000 prize to the recipient of the top score on the Chartered Insurance Institute Advanced Diploma in Insurance Final Exam. The 2022 recipient was Matthew Smith ACII of London. Matthew is an Aviation Deputy Class Underwriter with the Chaucer Group.
