Led by two aviation insurance leaders, the AIA’s Introduction to Aviation Insurance course is intended for new aviation insurance professionals with less than a year of experience in the field. This half-day course offers a high-level overview of aviation insurance. With this course, students will solidify their knowledge of the basics, accelerate their understanding of key concepts and terminology, and gain insight into resources for further professional development. Topics discussed include basics about insurance and the market, key terminology, the aircraft hull & liability policy, claims handling, the current state of the market, and more.
MEET THE INSTRUCTORS
Joe Williams - Joe is an Aviation Insurance Broker and Managing Director of Aviation for Marsh McLennan Agency SE. Previously, he served as an aviation insurance underwriter at AIG and Starr. Joe earned his undergraduate degree from Auburn University
and his MBA from Auburn University at Montgomery. He is a former certified flight instructor as well as a corporate pilot.
Jeffrey Higel - Jeff is an Aviation Underwriting Specialist with Allianz. Prior to that, he served as a Claims Attorney at Swiss Re/Sompo for over 6 years. Jeff is as a commercial pilot, certified flight instructor and a member of the New York Bar. He
received a degree in Aviation Management from Purdue University and his law degree from Emory University.
